Who We Are

Priscila Da Cunha

Co-founder & Creative Producer

Priscila Da Cunha is D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective’s co-founder and Producer. Originally from Brazil, she has resided in Australia since 2013. She serves as a Drama and English teacher at a Steiner School on the Sunshine Coast, directing and producing five full-length theatre performances annually.

Priscila holds a Master of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of Toronto, Canada, with research interests spanning contact improvisation, physical theatre, and the intersections of literature, theatre, film, and dance. She’s authored articles on Comparative Literature and edited four anthologies of Australian short stories for high school students.

With over fifteen years in the performing arts, Priscila has led workshops, performed, and produced various projects for D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective, including Identity (2025), Amor (2024), Caprichos (2022), Diver.city Inside Out (2021), Exodus (2021), Into the Light (2020 & 2023), Urban Twitters: Dis.connect.ed (2019), Stories of Dis.place.ment (2019) and Dis.connect.ed: A Short Documentary (2019). Her contributions also extend to Brazil, encompassing works with Cia. De Feitos, Cia. Les Commediens Tropicales and Inorgânicas Contemporary Dance Troupe, and the facilitation of storytelling workshops and performances in various settings.

Priscila’s training has covered Contact Improvisation (with Joerg Hassmann, Australia), Contemporary Dance (with Denise Passos, Brazil), Viewpoints (with Zen Zen Zo, Australia), Linklater Voice Training (with Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, Australia), Chekhov Method and Rudolf Steiner’s Creative Speech (with Dawn Langman, Australia), among others, with institutions and artists worldwide.
