Performer’s Arena

Performer’s Arena

ARENA: a place or scene of activity, debate, or conflict.

D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective’s PERFORMER’S ARENA is an ongoing, year-long contemporary & physical theatre training program for performing artists, directors, Drama students, teachers and performing arts enthusiasts, which aims at building an engaging community of creative minds to foster connections, stimulate investigation and encourage cooperation.

The training encompasses an in-depth approach to several methodologies and techniques used by D.I.V.E. Collective, including Biomechanics, Theatre of the Oppressed, Devising, Immersive Theatre and Composition.

In a relaxed and friendly environment, participants are encouraged not only to learn and practice different contemporary & physical theatre approaches but also to experiment, research, discuss, act, collaborate and create, in order to transform their acting and strengthen relationships with themselves and others on the stage.

Performer’s Arena is divided into four training blocks during the year and is aimed at participants aged 18+. No previous experience is required. Even though teaching progresses in a chain from one module to the next, participants are welcome to join at the start of any training block.
