Originally from Brazil, Cesar has called Australia home since 2013, immersing himself in the performing arts as an actor, director, teacher, and sound and light designer. With a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University São Judas (Brazil), he brings eight years of experience in film and television production from São Paulo. As a director and filmmaker, Cesar has crafted short films, documentaries, and institutional videos.
Cesar’s extensive performing arts training spans Experimental Theatre, Theatre of the Oppressed, Meyerhold’s Biomechanics, Puppetry, Physical Theatre, Viewpoints, and Butoh. His acting journey commenced in 2007 with Teatro Escola Macunaíma (Brazil), followed by working and training with renowned institutions, including Cia. de Teatro Os Satyros, Cia. Pessoal Do Faroeste (Brazil), Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, Fools Theatre Company, and Zen Zen Zo, in Australia.
In 2017, Cesar co-founded D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective, where he currently holds the position of Artistic Director. His impressive portfolio with D.I.V.E. includes directing Caprichos (2022), Exodus (2021), Into the Light (2020 & 2023), Urban Twitters: Dis.connect.ed (2019), Stories of Dis.place.ment (2019) and Dis.connect.ed: A Short Documentary (2019). Cesar also manages D.I.V.E.’s inclusive 4-All TV community engagement program.
Beyond D.I.V.E., Cesar has contributed his talents to a range of theatre and screen projects, both in Australia and Brazil.
