Identity

Who are you? This is one of the biggest questions posed by D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective in their show Identity. Navigating one’s place in the world is never easy, and it is made harder by the societal pressures of everyday life.

Are you ready to step into a world where identity is questioned, redefined, and laid bare? Identity is a bold and immersive performance that invites students to witness the raw, complex journey of four strangers confronting their pasts, their labels, and the forces that have shaped them. Through a striking blend of physical theatre, poetic movement, and multilingual storytelling, the piece unravels the layers that define who we are.

As the audience is guided by a mysterious Voiceover to move through the space, standing face to face with the performers, the boundaries between stage and spectator blur. It is an invitation to reflect, to feel, and to challenge the stories we tell ourselves about belonging and self-perception.

Performance styles and conventions: Storytelling, collage drama, contemporary political theatre, contemporary performance, physical theatre, fragmentation, non-linear form, immersive theatre and site-specific performance.

Themes: identity, belonging, societal pressure, conformity, self-perception, labels, human connection and diversity.

Suitability: Years 9-12

Into the Light

Into the Light was born out of a curiosity to explore the impact of technology on the way we connect (or disconnect) with one another.

Our younger generations are losing the connection to their senses because of the digital world. Gradually, more and more people, from a very young age, believe cyberspace to be the place where their truest selves dwell. To enter this world, body and place are abandoned in order for beings of light and words to be created: physical bodies engaging in non-physical experiences.

Into the Light is a thought-provoking story about connections, disconnections, choice and freedom that will inspire audiences everywhere.

Performance styles and conventions: storytelling, collage drama, contemporary political theatre, contemporary performance, physical theatre, fragmentation, non-linear form, immersive theatre and site-specific performance.

Themes: choice, consumerism, technology, social media, cyberculture, self-esteem, identity, acceptance, connections and disconnections.

Duration: 45 min (+10 min post-show Q&A)
Suitability: Years 9-12
Tour Dates: Terms 3 and 4 (2026) / Term 1 (2027)
Cost: $1,500*

Amor

In Amor, we delve into the very essence of what it means to exist within the spectrum of love. From our first breath to our most profound emotions, we are shaped by the invisible hand of love. Yet, what is love? Is it what we are told or what we truly feel?

Through this poetic journey, we strip away the layers of societal constructs to reveal the raw nature of love. We are born into this world with nothing but our breath, our hearts, and our senses. As we grow, we learn to name our feelings, but do we truly understand them?

This production shatters traditional boundaries with D.I.V.E’s unique blend of movement, visual poetry, and compelling narratives in English, Spanish and Chinese.

With Amor, D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective invites you to confront the questions that lie at the heart of our existence. What do you love? How do you love? Do you really love? These questions reverberate through every movement, every sound, every heartbeat of our performance.

Performance styles and conventions: storytelling, collage drama, contemporary political theatre, contemporary performance, physical theatre, fragmentation, non-linear form, immersive theatre and site-specific performance.

Themes: love, choice, peer pressure, family, childhood, self-esteem, diversity, culture, identity, acceptance.
