The Art of Devising is a transformative, hands-on workshop for anyone ready to expand their creative spirit and nurture their wellbeing.
Through methods like Composition, Viewpoints, Theatre of the Oppressed and Immersive Theatre techniques, you will explore storytelling as an ever-evolving, shared journey.
With activities designed to stimulate both mind and body, you will learn to use movement and physical awareness as a foundation for expressing emotions, ultimately crafting language and text in response to the rich, authentic stories that emerge. Here, every gesture, every word, becomes a new way to connect with yourself and with others.
Whether you are an experienced performer, dancer or someone simply curious about the power of storytelling, you’ll be welcomed into a space where new ideas and personal expression come alive.
The Art of Devising is led by Cesar Genaro, Artistic Director and co-founder of D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective. Born and trained in Brazil, Cesar has directed several award-winning devised theatre productions for D.I.V.E. and has shared his expertise in physical theatre as both an actor and director in Brazil and Australia.
This workshop is a chance to experience the magic of collaborative storytelling among a vibrant group of contemporary, forward-thinking theatre-makers. Together, we will celebrate creativity, resilience, and the joy of stepping into something truly unique.
If you are 18 or over and are ready to connect, grow, and create, we invite you to join us and see where your story can take you.
