Stories of Dis.place.ment

Show

Performance Date: May 2018

This project explored the theme of “displacement” in the Noosa shire through performing arts. This topic included discussing immigration, travel, exchange of cultures, and all kinds of “displacement” of people and nature in the region.

D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective ran two free performing arts workshop based on this theme with people from the community (actors, singers, dancers, artists, students and performing arts enthusiasts). Directed by Priscila Da Cunha, Cesar Genaro and Florence Teillet, the aim was to create a space for community exchange and artistic collaboration, in which collective creation opened up new possibilities and meanings in performance-making.

The outcome of the workshops led to two public performances/flash mobs in outdoor spaces in 2018 in the Noosa Shire.
