Maria is an emerging performing artist who was born and raised in Germany. She studied acting at the Theatre Academy in Mannheim before moving to Australia, almost two years ago. She also trained on acting techniques at On Stage Akademie in Ludwigsbur and Theatre Pedagogy at Theaterwerkstatt in Heidelberg (Germany).
Raised by a Finnish mother and an Iranian father – two cultures that could hardly be more different, Maria has learned to transform this experience into a strength for creating an understanding and acceptance not only for herself but also for different cultures, life histories and views others might have in life.
Acting has helped her a lot in building confidence and self-esteem and has been a part of her life since she was young. Some of her theatre credits in Germany include Maria Stuart, in Mary Stuart by Friedrich Schiller; Mariedl in Die Präsidentinnen by Werner Schwab; Wrage in Topdogs by Urs Widmer; Akela in The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling; Aishe in The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare; Das Klageweib, in Das zird schon. Nie mehr lieben! by Sybille Berg.
She joined D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective in 2022 and is excited to participate in the creative development of Caprichos.
