Who We Are

Madeleine Boyd

Performing Artist

Madeleine is an emerging Australian performing artist who is passionate about the power of arts and theatre in creating safe spaces that bring communities together and give people a voice.

Madeleine is a qualified teacher with a background in community work and community arts projects. She holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries and a Bachelor of Human Services from QUT, and a Master of Teaching.

She has experience in various contexts, including a youth detention centre, youth and family support services in Cherbourg, a drop-in centre for asylum seekers and refugees, and a boarding school designed for young Indigenous mothers and their babies. Madeleine has also worked on community arts projects and performed in communities in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and East Timor.

Madeleine is especially passionate about storytelling through physical theatre, process drama and playback theatre and has been inspired through training with companies such as Zen Zen Zo and Red Thread Stories Playback Theatre. A key artistic achievement includes co-facilitating of a multidisciplinary, cross-cultural performance with artists from East Timor that was funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Madeleine joined D.I.V.E. Theatre Collective in 2022 and is very excited about future projects.
